The New American Girl Doll This Christmas

By Marc Cameron

One of the hottest toys on Christmas lists this year is Chrissa from the American Girl Doll collection. As with all of the American Girl dolls, the attention given to detail is astonishing, producing an almost life-like appearance.. She has a light complexion, brown hair that comes to her shoulder and is straight. She has sparkling blue eyes. She arrives dressed in a pink floral outfit with a flower at the waist and ribbon accents. Chrissa comes wearing purple undergarments, with purple shoes and a flower bracelet for accessories. The box will also arrive with a pet mini-llama that is named Starburst. As with all American Girls, she is packaged with her very own self-titled book.

The story of Chrissa was originally shown on television in January of 2009, and was titled "Chrissa Takes a Stand". In the film Chrissa has to learn to handle one of today's important topics, bullying. As an answer to the large quantity of requests from families to the American Girl company on the subject, they determined that they would need a doll whose tale would take on this real and important trouble that touches the lives of millions of girls daily.

Chrissa is a creative and friendly 10 year old girl who has recently relocated to a new town in Minnesota with her family to live with her grandmother, who she lovingly calls Nana. Chrissa's mother Meg is a doctor, while her father Paul makes platewear for a nearby company. She also has a brother who is called Tyler who is exceptional in his expertise of the universe and planets.

Her grandmother lives in a lake-front home in a well to do neighborhood. Chrissa's favorite activities are swimming and diving. She is really looking forward to swimming in the lake when warmer weather arrives. Chrissa is also very talented at sewing and knitting. But, when Chrissa and her family relocate to the new neighborhood it is during the midpoint of the school semester. Because of this, Chrissa is a bit nervous about making acquaintances at the new school.

When Chrissa does start school, she is given a hard time by the three girls that she is given to sit near. She calls the 3 girls the 'Mean Bees'. They start by teasing her and playing unkind tricks at her swim club, around school and on the internet. As the teasing grows to tormenting her and bullying, Chrissa makes the decision to be resilient, couregous and to stand up for herself.

Chrissa's account is really a valuable story for girls all over, to help them in understanding just how bullying touches others, and it also teaches the significance of self-worth.

For the doll, you can get a good number of attractive outfits that have been made to go along with the movie. There is Starburst the miniature llama, plus other outfits and accessories for snow sledding, swimming and special occassions. - 30443
