How To Understand What Bakugan Toys To Get

By Nick Cantos

Toy companies are always coming out with something new that kids just can't live without. If you are buying for a child that likes to collect things then Bakugan toys might be a good idea. Anything new can be a bit confusing at first so I got my son to help me put together a basic guide to go buy when shopping for these.

First a little general information may be of help. Bakugan toys are collectables that can be used to battle other children. They come in all shape and colors and they have cards to go with them. The cards are as important, if not more important, than the actual Bakugan. The cards determine special abilities and attributes that can raise the power of the Bakugan which will determine the winner. Bakugan are magnetic and open when in contact with metal.

Bakugan can be found at any major toy store. Like any toy some are better than others. If the child already collects these then you may want to investigate a bit and find out which ones they currently have but duplicates are not always bad because they may have a different power.

They usually have to types of Bakugan; regular and trap. For battles, they will need some of both types. The package will tell you if it includes trap Bakugan. While the regular Bakugan are usually round, the trap Bakugan tend to come in various shapes.

A single Bakugan is not enough to even get started with. If they are only just starting to take an interest you may way to get them a starter set to begin with. The starter set comes with 6 Bakugan but does not include a trap Bakugan. The Bakugan Bakusphere comes with 2 normal Bakugan and 1 trap Bakugan. This holds a total of 8 Bakugan and cards for the Bakugan.

The tin comes with 2 regular Bakugan and no trap Bakugan. This will hold 18 Bakugan and cards as well. They also sell carrying cases that do not come with any Bakugan for easy storage and to carry with them. These are good if they have a lot of them and need a place to keep them safe.

They have two new sets out just in time for Christmas. One comes with 1 regular and 6 trap and the other set is all regular. This is what is on my sons Christmas list.

The cards for this game come with the sets or are sold separately. As I mentioned before, these are very important and maybe even more important to have a large assortment of these then the toys themselves. As for the toys, they seem to be never ending. You have some that are rare and you have some that are very large. The regular, normal sized Bakugan are the ones most played with.

This can be great as a hobby and used for hours of entertainment. They are usually not recommended for children under 5 but kids up even in their teens may enjoy these. My son will be 11 next month and he loves these toys. - 30443
